Profile

Briefly tell us about yourself (e.g. hometown, family, hobbies, favorite BYU courses, intended profession)

I am from Leesburg, Virginia. I am the third of six children. My mom is Hawaiian/Chinese, and my dad is Caucasian. I love hiking, ice skating, baking, and skiing. I have been playing the harp for about 12 years now.

I am working to apply to genetic counseling programs.

Who were your greatest supporters while earning this degree?

My friends, particularly the ones from my research lab, and my family.

What advice do you have for incoming freshmen at BYU?

Don't forget to have some fun. It can be easy to get caught up in trying to accomplish everything and be the best student/applicant. But it is also important to have some fun in between deadlines.

How has your experience at BYU prepared you for the rest of your life?

BYU has prepared me by keeping my life and what I'm doing in perspective. I came to school so that I may gain the training I need to serve others. By focusing on the mission of BYU to "Enter to Learn, Go Forth to Serve" has allowed me to pursue what I want, but also remain diligent to my beliefs and standards throughout that process.
