Profile

Briefly tell us about yourself (e.g. hometown, family, hobbies, favorite BYU courses, intended profession)

I am from Longboat Key, Florida. I am married and have a 19 month old son.
I love to rock climb and volunteer at the hospital. My favorite course I took at BYU was either Parasitology or Immunology. Upon graduating, I will be moving back to Florida to attend Medical School.

Who were your greatest supporters while earning this degree?

My Family, specifically my amazing wife, and the great professors in the MMBIO department.

What advice do you have for incoming freshmen at BYU?

Whatever your goals may be, stick with them. BYU is an amazing university fully of professors who care and will help you fulfill those goals. Also, don't be afraid to get involved from the first time you step foot on campus. You may feel inadequate, but the best way to learn is by participating.

How has your experience at BYU prepared you for the rest of your life?

BYU's Life Science Department, specifically the MMBIO department, did an amazing job of helping me to understand the fundamental principles of science. This not only helped me succeed in my undergraduate classes, but also has prepared me for my future career in medicine. If you understand the fundamentals well, the advanced concepts truly fall into place.
