Profile

Briefly tell us about yourself (e.g. hometown, family, hobbies, favorite BYU courses, intended profession)

I grew up in the small town of Fredonia, Arizona, with two older brothers and raised by two wonderful parents who have been my greatest examples growing up. I have been married almost three years to the love of my life who inspires me every day. We actually met at BYU orientation! When I have free time I like water sports, playing video games, and most of all, hanging out with my wife. My favorite course at BYU is definitely family finance. It is so applicable to life! After graduating, my wife and I will take the summer to vacation before moving to Omaha, Nebraska where I will be starting medical school at Creighton University.

Who were your greatest supporters while earning this degree?

My greatest supporter is, without a doubt, my wife, McKenzie Johnson. She has been extremely supportive of all of my ambitions and has sacrificed so much so we can have a better future. I love her with all of my heart. Also a big shout out to my parents for also sacrificing so much so that my wife and I can succeed in life.

What advice do you have for incoming freshmen at BYU?

"Don't let schooling interfere with your education" - Mark Twain

How has your experience at BYU prepared you for the rest of your life?

BYU has prepared me by giving me the tools to learn throughout my life. Education doesn't stop at graduation; it is an eternal endeavor!
