Profile

Briefly tell us about yourself (e.g. hometown, family, hobbies, favorite BYU courses, intended profession)

I'm from South Korea and the oldest of 3 daughters. I love to travel around the world and explore new cultures. My favorite course at BYU is the Anatomy lab. The course itself was rather challenging but the TAs were absolutely amazing and helpful. I will begin my career as a generalist at the ARUP clinical lab, University of Utah Hospital. My ultimate goal is to help people live healthier lives with my knowledge and talents, so I will continue my education in the future.

Who were your greatest supporters while earning this degree?

My parents were the greatest supporters of all time. They always have faith in me and support me to the full extent. I would also love to embrace myself for all the hard work and tolerance that I have made to keep up with the classes. The professors and classmates in the MLS program were astonishing and helped me a lot to go through challenging times.

What advice do you have for incoming freshmen at BYU?

Use all the resources that BYU is providing! Take as many STAC/STDEV courses as you can and try to learn different things. There are numerous opportunities out there, you just have to find out. Don’t be afraid to reach out and ask for help.

How has your experience at BYU prepared you for the rest of your life?

BYU was very challenging yet taught me how to tolerate stress. Through my experience at BYU, I have learned to understand people and serve others.
