Profile

Briefly tell us about yourself (e.g. hometown, family, hobbies, favorite BYU

I'm from Wenatchee, WA, and the youngest in my family of 6. I love to play tennis, go skiing, and sing! Some of my favorite MMBio classes at BYU were definitely Immunology, Virology, and Phage Hunters. Outside of the major, I definitely loved World Religions, Men's Chorus, and Family Finance. Next year I am off to dental school at the University of Washington and ultimately hope to practice dentistry somewhere in Washington state.

Who were your greatest supporters while earning this degree?

My parents, siblings, and wife were definitely all very important in supporting me during my years at BYU!

What advice do you have for incoming freshmen at BYU?

I highly recommend making devotionals (and forums) a priority. So many people only make it to a few during their time at BYU, but it is one of the unique things about the BYU experience! If you block out the time in your weekly schedule just like you would for any other commitment, you can make it happen! I know that it definitely enhanced my week when I went ready to learn.

How has your experience at BYU prepared you for the rest of your life?

I feel that the aims of a BYU experience really worked for me: I have grown spiritually, intellectually, in character, and understand what a lifetime of learning and service entails. My mission was an important foundation, but my time at BYU has helped me understand my lifelong goals and shown me a path to achieve them.
