Griffitts Lab

Welcome to the Griffitts lab site! Our research group seeks to understand mechanisms of biological versatility in bacteria, including the ability to tolerate environmental stress. We are always improving methods for assembling DNA and expressing proteins in the biotechnology workhorse Escherichia coli. We are also engineering E. coli to explore properties that emerge as genome complexity is experimentally reduced.
