While you can intern without getting academic credit for your experience, the process for receiving credit is quite painless. However, this process must be initiated before your internship. In other words, you cannot receive credit if you have already started or completed your internship.
Basics of Receiving Credit
1. Find and secure your Internship
2. Come into the MMBio Internship Office to get approved and to discuss your responsibilities
3. Fill out a Student Agreement and make sure a Master Agreement is already on file or get it signed
4. Write a small pre-departure paper outlining what you will be doing
5. Attend Student Orientation
6. Go on Internship and while on internship keep in contact with your faculty mentor
7. Upon completion of your experience, write a final internship paper, come see me for an interview, get recommendations from your supervisors, and receive your credit!
