| Biography After completing a BS in Zoology at Brigham Young University in 1993, Byron earned his PhD in Biological Sciences at the University of Nebraska in 1998 and was a postdoc at UC Davis in 1999. As an assistant professor in the Nematology and Entomology department at the University of Florida, Byron taught courses in Nematode Morphology and Anatomy, Computer Techniques in Research, and Invertebrate Field Biology. As an associate professor in the Biology Department and member of the BYU Evolutionary Ecology Laboratories, he currently teaches BIO 240 (Molecular Biology) and MMBIO 651 (Coevolutionary Analysis).
